SanEd consulting is an IT training company which initiated its services in 2005 primarily as Sun Microsystem's authorised training provider. Our training portfolio was Solaris and Java focused. Later on we upgraded our portfolio and included authorisations from Veritas / Symantec and Oracle after aquisition of Sun. 

As the global IT market is rapidly changing and developing we must have accepted its needs and trends. Thus, beginning of 2014 we decided to "refurbish" our services and included new, young and perspective partners and together prepared number of interesting trainings you can find in our catalogue.

Description

This course provides students with the skills to read, write, and debug UNIX shell scripts. The course begins by describing simple scripts to automate frequently executed commands and continues by describing conditional logic, functions, user interaction, loops, menus, and traps. Course is intended for system administrators who have mastered the basics of a UNIX Operating System (OS) such as the Solaris 10 OS or Linux and who would like to read and understand the various boot scripts and write their own scripts to automate their day-to-day tasks. This course explores, in detail, the Bourne and Korn shell scripting languages.

  • Use basic UNIX commands, such as rm, cp, man, more, mkdir, ps, chmod, and so on
  • Create and edit text files in vi or a text editor
