Skills Gained
Upon completion of the course, the learner should be able to:
- Identify the business needs met by the various Enterprise models (Hitachi Universal Storage Platform, Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V, Hitachi Universal Storage Platform VM, and Hitachi Network Storage Controller Model 55)
- Describe the architecture and explain the principles of operation of the Enterprise subsystems
- Identify the Hitachi Data System Enterprise models and components
- Explain the Enterprise systems use of: FED/BED, cache and shared memory, parity groups, emulation, LDEV and LUN mapping
- List and describe the software product offerings available on the Enterprise systems
- Define I/O paths from host server to Enterprise systems using Storage Navigator, including LUN mapping and security
- Perform Cache Residency Manager operations
- Implement volume management functions such as virtual LUN and LUSE
- Use Performance Monitor to analyze subsystem performance
