The Sun StorEdge 9900-V Overview and Configuration course provides students with hands-on training on the Sun StorEdge 9900-V (9970/9980) storage subsystem. This course specifically provides training on the components, architecture, configuration planning, support capabilities, operative concepts, management, scaling, bandwidth, and capabilities of the Sun StorEdge 9900-V subsystem. The student should learn all the steps necessary to configure a Sun StorEdge 9900-V subsystem, including physical mapping, the creation of logical unit numbers (LUNs), and the use of cache. The basic differences between the Sun StorEdge 9900-V system and its 9900 predecessors is also defined. Detailed disk storage concepts and HDS-specific product offerings are explained. Although references are made within the course to the operating environments supported, no specific knowledge of either environment is either assumed or required. This course does not present maintenance or "Break-Fix" subject matter.
