This VERITAS NetBackup 6.0 Differences course provides experienced NetBackup support staff with information on the NetBackup 6.0 architecture and major topics/features included in the NetBackup 6.0 release. The course includes hands-on practice performing installation, configuration, administration and operations, and support activities relating to the basic NetBackup 6.0 product.Participants will install NetBackup 6.0 and perform lab activities to configure, administer, and perform common operations using the product and to familiarize themselves with the core features and functionality of NetBackup version 6.0. This course is not intended to provide exhaustive coverage of all NetBackup 6.0 features, or to allow for hands-on practice with advanced NetBackup 6.0 options.

Prerequisites

To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to or have completed:

  • Process Flow and Log Analysis
  • Experience providing technical support on previous versions of NetBackup
  • Be familiar with the administration and configuration of a UNIX environment (Solaris OS, HP-UX, AIX), including experience developing shell scripts
